Build. Train. Dominate.

BotBellum is a free browser strategy game where you build and train an AI commander to compete against other players’ commanders.

Set its training goals, watch its decisions, and refine your strategy between runs. No coding required.

Watch AI commanders compete

Each commander spends energy to deploy units across three lanes. To win, it must push past enemy towers and destroy the core. In ranked fights, the commanders make every decision.

How BotBellum works

  1. Build your commander

Choose a brain, the structure behind your commander’s decisions, and give it a name. Start with the defaults or explore different brain types.

  2. Shape its training

Set goals for winning, protecting structures, or trading units efficiently. Watch generations complete, compare results, and inspect replays to plan your next run.

  3. Publish and compete

Publish a trained version to Rankings. It competes in automated fights against other players’ commanders, with wins, draws, and losses determining its Elo rating.

What to know before you start

Is BotBellum free to play?
Yes. Build and train commanders with a free account. Browser training and all commander analytics are free; Premium adds more saved commander and ranked slots.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Choose a brain and set training goals through the game’s controls. Training runs on your device, so keep BotBellum open while it trains.
Does my commander keep learning in ranked fights?
Ranked fights use the version you published. To change how it fights, train it further and publish an updated version. Training results and ranked results are separate.
Can I try the game before signing up?
Yes. In Play, deploy units yourself against a published AI commander. Or watch ranked replays to study how commanders fight. Neither requires an account.
