What we collect

You can sign in with Google or an email address and password, using Supabase to manage sign-in. We store your account identifier, email when provided, display name, and profile image.

If you publish a commander, we store its name, brain settings, trained brain data, playing-style summary, ranked results (Elo, wins, losses, and draws), your Who can fork setting, and, for forks, which published commander it came from. Each publish also records how the commander was trained, such as its brain, learning method, doctrine, and how much it trained. We store the unique share links you create for each commander.

Ranked fights store outcomes, stats for each side (units spawned, kills, towers taken, and how the fight ended), and replays.

After a season ends, we keep ranked results, statistics and commander ancestry. We remove replay recordings, training history and trained weights. Recovery backups for that season are also removed.

Training and saved commanders

Training runs in your browser. My Commanders keeps copies of commander data and training progress on your device. Building or copying (forking) commanders requires sign-in. Your commanders and their training runs are also saved to your account, including settings, training results, fight stats, and which ranked commanders they trained against, so they follow you across devices.

How we use fight data

The BotBellum team studies overall patterns in training and ranked fight data to balance the game, for example which units overperform, how different brains perform, and which learning methods work best. Official BotBellum team accounts can view this data, including breakdowns for a single commander. Among players, the full breakdown of your commander's ranked fights and training is shown only to you. Everyone else sees a short summary on its public profile (fights analyzed, top units, lane focus, typical fight length, and how it usually wins).

Cookies and browser storage

Supabase uses cookies and local browser storage to complete sign-in and keep you signed in. Your browser stores the information needed to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Account agreements and game update emails

When you create an account, we record when you accepted the Terms of use and acknowledged the Privacy policy, along with which policies applied at the time. This acknowledgement is separate from consent to optional emails. If you choose game update emails, we record your choice and when you subscribed or unsubscribed. These preferences are private.

The optional newsletter is limited to new seasons and major BotBellum game updates. It is off by default, and declining it does not affect your account or plan. You can withdraw consent anytime in your Game update emails settings. Unsubscribing does not stop essential account, security, or billing messages.

Service providers and billing

Supabase manages sign-in and stores data. Cloudflare hosts the service. Google handles Google sign-in when you choose it. If you buy Premium, Polar handles checkout, payments, invoices, and subscription management. We share your account reference and verified email with Polar and store billing references, subscription status, and billing history to manage access and recurring billing. Payment details are entered in Polar checkout, rather than stored by the BotBellum site.

Your choices

You can change your username, email, password, two-factor settings, and game update email preference, unpublish commanders, and delete your account. Deletion stops recurring billing, unpublishes active commanders, clears your public username and avatar, removes your agreement and newsletter preferences, and blocks further account access. You can delete your account in your account settings. Deleting your account also removes the training records saved when you publish a commander.

Depending on applicable law, you may also request access, correction, erasure, restriction, or a portable copy of your personal data, object to certain uses, and complain to your local data protection authority. Account deletion does not promise immediate erasure of every authentication, training, billing, backup, or historical fight record.

Retention

Fight history may be kept for rankings and to understand how players and commanders compete. Ranked fight stats may be kept for game balance analysis after a commander is unpublished or deleted, including after a season ends. Hosted data is stored in encrypted databases with automatic backups.
